End of term blog...

Well we have made it to the end. I barely did. I am still catching up which is great since it is almost 6 p.m. and I only have until midnight to turn it all in. But that's ok. I can do it and it is my fault for getting behind. I have been extremely busy and barely have time to catch a breath lately!! I enjoyed this class though and I wish my fellow classmates all the best of luck in all their schooling!! I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Wonderful New Year!!

Unit 2 of College Comp II

Well another week has passed. They seem to be flying by these days. This is my second week of the new term. I am officially on academic warning and have to get excellent grades this term to stay at Kaplan. So I have been busting my butt!! I am determined to get back on the deans list which is where I was before my life got in the way lol. Things got so hectic for a while that I could not keep up!! But I am back with a vengeance!! Anyway, good luck to all and have a great day!

Another term is beginning and with it come changes....

Well I am now taking College Comp 2 again. I have failed it due to personal issues during the last term. But, all is well now and I plan to come back with a vengeance!!! I love to write and blogging is something that I enjoy so much!!! Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day and enjoys writing in their blogs as well as reading others!!

Ok so this is the first time I am posting in my blog for this new term. I am behind and it is driving me crazy. Now I am busting my butt to catch up and pass. I am taking College Comp II again because I failed it the first time around from getting behind. I wanted to take a Leave of Absence for the term but my advisor did not get my papers in time. So here I am. I am finally able to sit down and catch up. Life has been crazy!! We just moved and my children will be starting the new school year in a new school. Only about two more weeks to go til they start!! Anyway as I said I am behind and am determined to catch up and keep with it the rest of the term!! I hope everyone had a great summer!!

Unit 4 Make Up Blog

So I missed doing the unit 4 blog. I am going to do it now so that I have the satisfaction of knowing that I completed it even though it is late.
Citing sources if very important to prevent plagiarism. If we use something someone else wrote then we must cite it to give them the credit they are due. If someone took credit for something that I wrote I would be very upset. I work hard on anything that I do so I do not want someone else claiming that it is theirs. It is not fair that I would do all of the work while someone else takes credit. The internet is a place where plagiarism occurs alot. People find things they like and use it on their sites and do not cite it. This happens alot. If I ever use a quote that I like or anythigng like that I try to always remember to say who wrote it. I do not want to take credit for something that is not mine.

Getting Caught Up

Well I missed last weeks blog. I have not been feeling well. I am going to start out by talking about my writing style. I tend to use freewriting a good bit. I love to just start writing down my thoughts about a topic without worrying about how perfect or correct it is. I find some of my best ideas and points this way. I just let it flow and then I go back a proofread it and make any corrections that may need to be made. I love to do this.
At this point in my life school is becoming harder and harder for me to keep up with. There seems to be so much going on in my personal and professional life that I have been finding it hard to find the time for school. But, I am getting back on track now. I am determined to make it through this term as well as all of my upcoming terms and graduate. The honors part of school is really making it tough on me right now. I am seriously contemplating dropping out of the honors course and just continuing on with the regular classes. I just do not know for sure if I want to or not. I do not want to regret it but it is putting a big damper on my GPA right now. But, I suppose I shall just have to see what happens this term and go from there.
School has become a big influence on my life. Even when I am having difficulty keeping up with the work it is always on the back of my mind. I have become even more determined to succeed, especially since I have fallen behind. I have a stronger resolve to finish this now!!

Another week gone by........

Well another week is almost over. It is Friday of Memorial Day weekend. Most people are getting ready to spend time with family. There are plans of picnicing and swimming to escape the insufferable heat that has surrounded us as of late. I am one of those people who have such plans. I will be going away for the weekend to see a sister I have not seen in two and a half years. But before I go I am getting what I can done for school so I can spend the weekend relaxing and enjoying the family and friends whose company I will enjoy for such a short time.
I want to touch on the topic of my paper. The one idea I have is to do it on treating children with adhd. This topic hits home for me because my son has this disorder. I myself had to undergo alot of scrutiny when he was first diagnosed and I decided to put him on medication. I believe that it is personal choice and that everyone does things differently. As I told the friends and family who opposed to this choice, they do not live my life and they do not know the entire situation. They were not the ones who were worried their child was going to hurt themselves or their other children. Our situation and home life were not ideal at that time so I felt I handled it the best way for us. I personally do not condemn anyone who medicates their child nor do I condemn anyone who does not. It is a personal choice. Sorry...I get all fired up about this subject. I am going to go for now.

Welcome to my blog...

Hello fellow students. We are now into our second week of the term. I am looking forward to all of the upcoming units and getting to know everyone!! I have introduced myself in the first unit but I am going to talk a little about myself once again. I am a 26 year old mother of 3. My children are ages 8, 5, and 4. My son is the oldest and the younger two are both girls. They are a handful but I wouldn't have it any other way!! I love them and they make my life so interesting and fun. They are the main reason I am returning to school after being out for so long. I want to make a better life for them and myself. I am not with their father but I have a wonderful man in my life. He is amazing to both myself and the kids. I would be lost without him! I am attending Kaplan with the goal of attaining my Associate's degree in Health Information Technology. I would like to use this degree to work as a Medical Coder. I plan to work towards my Bachelor's degree after obtaining my Associate's degree. So far school has been interesting and challenging all at once. There have been times that I was sure that I could not go any further or have gotten stuck on someting that I did not understand. But I am determined to push through and graduate!! I must be doing something right because I am now in the honors program. This is the first term that I have had an honors class. It is already challenging but I know I can do it!! I know that everyone else can do good in their classes!! I truly believe that anyone can do anything they set their mind to!! I have recently joined the Lia Sophia team as a jewelry advisor. I love it!! The jewelry is beautiful and I have met some of the most amazing women since joining. I am my own boss and I work when it fits into my schedule!! I am so glad that I took the chance to join with them!! Well that is enough about me for now!!! I'm off to be the awesome doemstic goddess that I am lol!!

Well it is the start of another term at Kaplan. I am looking forward to getting to know my new professors as well as my fellow students. It should be a fun and interesting term for me!! I start my first honors class this term. It is going to be challenging but I am definitely up for it!! I can't wait to get started.
